Scuderia Silvestri /sportscar emporium

Scuderia Silvestri will be racing at the 12 hours of sebring, though not the glamour of the 12 hour race, Vintage racing is a special part of the 12 Hours Of Sebring, our "old cars"  evoke the histroy of the event , when  flying down the front straight of the fabled circuit , and glancing up at pit row  at all the names of the past winnners and cars ,  makes one feel pretty special to be a vintage racer,  there is nothing like sebring the crowd , the noise, the elite of the the sportscar word, for one hour in the race car it makes you feel very lucky to be involved in the sport!

  Well the 1965 Porsche 912  servived the punishing circuit of Sebring  3 races and one little problem as the shifter linkage shaft slipped out of the coupler during the enduro. repaired in 5 minutes the the little Porsche was ready to do battle again in Friday afternoons sprint race , A 40 plus car field of vintage cars , and a nice battle with a  triumph TR4  and the 912 came home 3rd in class , not bad for a car with one of the smallest displacements on the grid! Sebring is a special place and i'm glad to to be part of it yet again, 2010 is my 21st year in a row , and my 12th year of  vintage racing at sebring .

 APRIL 7 -11 Roebling road , Savannah  spring races, I'll be racing my Elva Currier , I 'm  looking forward to this great track really suited to small bore race cars, i have had some of my best races and best times at this  classic road course stay tuned ! I know i'm getting excited!!!!

      BACK FROM ROEBLING ROAD APRIL 8-11 RACE RECAP:

 Back from Roebling  Rd. with mixed results , The Alfa berlina , owned and run by , Greg Sefarian finished every race and and ran the enduro against some very fast Porsches  the Old girl kept on running and showed why , the Alfa engine is a work horse, not the fastest , but always reliable the alfa came home and Greg , finished with  his first SVRA medal,  We are continuing to develop the belina , adding a watts link too the rear and , Greg is talking about upgrading the gearbox and , adding LSD rear, these changes should get the  Berlina up the grid , I know i can't wait to see this special sedan going Faster. Our First real race with gregs , GTV6 , it ran strong thurs. and Friday , only to blow a head gasket , Not knowing of the engines history , we Plan to open it up and find the cause and  correct,  This is a beautiful Engine  once sorted , its Howl will be noticed on the race track in the future!
